Passionate about music education and outreach, she is committed to inspiring the next generation of musicians through her work at YOLA.
As the founder and conductor of the Mission Philharmonic and Mission Wind Ensemble in Riverside, California, Robin leads a diverse group of nearly 100 local musicians, including university students, high school band directors, and educators. Under her leadership, the ensemble has performed concerts supported by the Public Art Riverside Grant designed to help with funding for the performance hall, purchase of music and more. The ensemble has performed a classical benefit concert to help raise money to donate for those affect from the Los Angeles fires in January of 2025, two pops concerts and a holiday concert for the 2024-2025 season. The Mission Philharmonic’s woodwind quintet also brings music to underserved communities, performing at venues such as Olive Crest and Leaven Kids for foster families and children.
Robin’s conducting experience extends to professional and collegiate ensembles, including workshops with the Cleveland Pops, University of North Texas, University of Oregon, and University of Central Florida. In 2022, she attended the Sewanee Summer Music Festival, where she studied standard orchestral repertoire and premiered new works under the guidance of Dr. Gene Moon.
Beyond the podium, Robin has extensive experience in arts administration. She served as Orchestra Manager for the Sewanee Symphony during its 2024 season and as Artist Liaison for the National Repertory Orchestra (NRO) in 2023. While at NRO, she also performed as a pianist with the orchestra in Disney’s The Lion King in Concert and Anna Thorvaldsdottir’s Ro at the Breckenridge International Festival of Arts.
As a flautist, Robin has performed with distinguished ensembles such as the World Youth Wind Symphony at the Interlochen Center for the Arts, the FMEA All-State Symphonic Band, and the Florida Music Ambassadors on their 75th Anniversary Tour in Europe.
With a diverse background in conducting, performance, and administration, Robin is dedicated to using music as a tool for education, engagement, and artistic excellence.
